Hey nathan's ass, did Czabe retire and then try to steal his job back from Stephen A like Favre did with the Packers. Completely fucking different, you god-damned moron.
@Dan: You are a perfect example of the classy Favre haters Czabe uses like his little bitches.
For the record, I am neither a supporter of, nor an opponent of Favre. I believe he has every right to work just like anyone else. The Packers didn't want him, so he asked for a trade or release. When the trade was made, he went where it dictated. Favre "owes" nothing to the "fans", except that he give 100% while on the roster. He owes no loyalty to the Packers, nor to the "fans" after the fact. Just like Czabe, he has every right to try to one up his former employer.
But maybe this complex thinking is a bit over your head, given the level of intelligence you displayed in your post.
I look at things this way: I'd rather have Czabe on SNR, not on FSR.... Anybody listen to the FSR promos since Czabe was canned? Anyone,... anyone...? These promos HAD to be produced by a 14 year-old, Jr. High, A.V. Club son of a FSR exec!!!! Awful! I mean, puke on my dashboard awful!!!!
It's all good. His buddy Sean Salisbury is hooking him up with a job at The Steak 'n Shake.
On a related note, I hope that these rumors that Salisbury (the original dongslinger) is going to be the new offensive coordinator at Maryland if Leach gets the job are not true. That guy should not be allowed on a college campus.
They should find another Jack. You wouldn't want it to be too much like Mike and Mike. I mean, Jack and Jack in the morning is nothing like M & M. Is one fat and one skinny? On the bright side, rumors are flowing that Jack and Jack will be replaced by Crazy Eyes Killer AKA Stewya. Are you looking at me Stewart are ya?
I remember the first day Stephen A. replaced Czabe a year ago. I turn on the radio and the first thing he does is rip on Czabe's lead in music. First off, I'm pissed that Czabe is gone, then there's this ass hat ripping on him.
Then Stephen A. Smiths show proceeds to be ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS in every way! Virtually impossible for me to listen to! I'd love to meet the exec that listened to him and said, 'Yes, this guy is better than Czaban' - Moron.
@Matt: Favre "retired" once as a Packer. Prior to that there were multiple questions from media types asking if he was retiring, to which the answer was always the same: "I don't know."
Being asked that question is neither him "retiring every year" nor is it even his responsibility. All the conjecture came from sub par reporters from Bristol, Green Bay and Milwaukee and was constant. His answer was honest as I am sure he didn't know what he was going to do, as is true most players of his age.
Repeated media questions somehow became his seeking out attention and threatening to retire, which is absurd on its face.
The questions were as stupid and lame as they get, which is par for the course in the media today. Create a story to get ratings.
As I said, he owes Packer Nation nothing, including loyalty after the fact. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a fool of the highest order.
As for playing for MN: He had a chance to play for a team that runs the same offense he has run for 16+ years, play for a coach he knows and likes (Bevell), has one of his best friends still playing the game on the roster (Longwell) and needed only a QB to be a serious SB threat. He would have been a total moron NOT to go there, even if they are in the same division as GB. The fact he was a Packer for a long time does not require that he only play for the Packers, as every NFL franchise is a competitor to GB in the literal sense.
MN was the perfect place for him, and it had little to do with revenge. I'm sure that played a small role (human nature), but without all the things I listed, I would doubt highly he would be a Viking for “vengeance” alone. Move all those elements to the Oakland Raiders, and I would be willing to bet that he would have moved on to the Raiders and not MN.
Packer nation allowed their "feelings" to get hurt and have behaved like children. If they expect loyalty from Favre, do they not owe him loyalty just the same? Should they not support him no matter what forever, just as they expect him to be a Packer forever? Their position is illogical and selfish, just like a 4 year old.
It does not offend me that he played for MN anymore that it does for Longwell or did for Sharper. This is a business and only fans are emotionally attached to a team. Players are employees, and that's where the attachment ends.
I tried to listen to Stephen A. when he was at the 4 letter but couldn't stomach it. I'd love to hear a white dude say the stuff about black players/coaches/whatever the way he talks about white folks and see what happens. On another note, I don't even listen to FSR in the evenings any more, and very little on weekends. I used to like their line-up but the pm's are too LA-oriented now and if I hear another white radio personality bashing white people (cough, cough Hartman, etc.) I'm going to poke them in the eye. Seriously.
Aww, no more Screaming A Smith calling women ho's and going on and on (including in promos!) about his bowel habits?
The only three mysteries to this are:
1. Why did a classy lady like Deb Carson tolerate Smith's filth for a year?
2. Why did FSR wait a year to fire Smith, while they lost 31 affiliiates nationwide specifically complaining about Smith and his lack of class losing them advertisors?
We now have no terrestial sports talk radio in New Jersey, thanks to the assclown Smith and his deplorable act.
3. This is not at all about race for me, being a lesbian sports fan with a Latina girlfriend. If this was jsut Fox trying to be diverse, they had plenty of talent within, such as Lincoln Kennedy, Derrick Deese, and James Washington, all three of whom are knowledgable gentlemen with class about sports.
Nathan_sass: Look, I understand where you are coming from, but we'll have to agree do disagree.
Favre has helped define the term, "unretirement". If you retire more than once, you're doing it wrong. Period.
I don't care why he went to Viking-land. It was wrong. Period. It would be the same as working for, say, Microsoft, for 20 or so years, only to go to Apple and give them all the dirty secrets. Yes, you can do it. But just because you can, does not mean you SHOULD. I don't care how many people he knew there, he should have known what it would do to his image. Did he do it for revenge? I don't care.
Packer nation had his back for 17 years. No amount of INT's or addiction to painkillers could take that away. We were loyal -- until he went to our #2 division rival.
Oh - and as far as the "employee" and "buisness" aspect, the best players to watch are the ones out there playing with heart and soul - so treating it like a "business" or "employment" lessens them. It's similar to Czabe -- you can tell that he truly loves the sport, and all it's intricacies, and his heart is in the discussion, where his replacements are not.
And, for the record, Longwell and Sharper did not retire more than once -- very, very big difference. It isn't lying.
Wtf, why did no one call me! Czabe been on snr for months and I have been stuck listening to sas. In the world we live in, the sob that made that call fsr probably got a promotion and a raise. Anyway, I will be listening tommorow, if they had not canned (his decision to pursue other interests) sas I would not have looked up this site.
Glad this ass-hat is off the air...but mostly who cares? I am getting my 3 hours of Czabe and the boys every weekday and they are getting paid. Congrats to SNR and the Czabe show for a solid first 4 months of the new show.
suck on that, don martin!...lose any long time affiliates lately, you clueless sack of shit??
ReplyDeleteWatch out I hear he's coming to Sporting News Radio in the morning next.
ReplyDeleteBe classy people ... everyone has the God given right to throw money out the window.
ReplyDeleteShocker. The Redskins should hire the talent scouts at FSR.
ReplyDeleteIf it weren't for Steven A. I never would have drifted to Mike & Mike. Good one Fox! Miss u Czabe on XM.
ReplyDeleteCzabe is on XM 242. Has been for months now.
ReplyDeleteVery classy low-key gloat, Czabe... Happy ho ho to Scotty & the gang.
ReplyDeleteThis from the guy who rips Favre for feeling the exact same way about the Green Bay Packers and more specifically Ted Thompson. Hypocrite.

I love the typo in the story you linked. "Roll" instead of "role". Editors have become so lazy.
ReplyDeletenathan_sass: You don't see a problem with Favre retiring every year?
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it is going to be Zakk and Jack? I thought Fox was considering adding Brian and Stewie's "Dingo and the Baby" to their morning lineup...
