More Cowbell!

I didn't watch President Obama's State of the Union speech on Wednesday, but I did read one excerpt where he said this about the Democrats' proposed health care "reform."

"Still, this is a complex issue, and the longer it was debated, the more skeptical people became. I take my share of the blame for not explaining it more clearly to the American people. And I know that with all the lobbying and horse-trading, the process left most Americans wondering, "What's in it for me?"

Oh. Really? You didn't EXPLAIN it more clearly? That's it? That's IT????

You've got to be kidding, right?

Let me translate: "Hey, I'm so smart and wonderful, I'm sorry you greedy idiots out there didn't get it."

Yesssir! That's our President!

Sooooo, what to do now? More cowbell, more Obama!

Fantastic.

  1. What did you expect? The typical liberal line.
"We know what's best for you. Just sit down and shut up. Clearly it's too complicated for you to understand. Trust us."

  2. Politicians are never wrong. If you don't believe me, ask them. This is just obama's way of saying he was wrong.

Things are a mess and Obama is partly to blame. Not because of Health Care. Health Care was a sideshow for the real problems. We're losing 600,000 jobs every month, regardless of what the BLS reports. Instead of looking at their numbers, go to trimtabs and look at the number who have income tax withheld and you'll see things are much worse then the BLS is letting on.

Retail sales off off double digits from this time last year. Look at sales tax receipts instead of the bogus adjusted numbers put out by the gov't. Both Sales and Income taxes collected have cratered.

Finally the stock market is figuring out that there's no real economic recovery taking place. It's just gov't propaganda.

  3. Just like Conan suffered from having to follow Leno, Obama is suffering from having to follow Bush. 8 years of W (the worst President ever) really fucked us up good. That being said, both sides (Democrat and Republican) totally suck. All politicians are weasels.

  4. Those 8 years also saw record lows for unemployment and record high tax revenues resulting from tax cuts to individuals. Face it, people did well during Bush's years than you want to admit. Typical liberal echoing the emptiness of the media. The facts say otherwise. Unless you were unhappy with the size of your government handout.

  5. StB, you're right - despite some of Bush's disappointing decisions (No Child Left Behind, Medicare Part D) the economic growth caused by his tax cut package kept this country growing and staved off the recession (which, incidentally, came about as a result of idiotic liberal home loan policies) as long as possible. My Lord, can you imagine where we'd be if Kerry and John "Shawn Kemp" Edwards had been driving the bus for the last four years?

  6. Somebody said that Obama made 29 speeches promoting the health care initiative. He had 29 chances to "SPLAIN" it to us. He just kept repeating the same rheteric over and over. The "deals" were what caused the outcry. Kill it and start over. Put the top 5 donkeys and elephants in a room and say they can't come out till they've got a deal. After about thirty days, maybe then we can get something we can live with.

  7. "Those 8 years also saw record lows for unemployment" ????

    http://www.bls.gov/cps/prev_yrs.htm

Unemployment went down every year during Clinton's years. Bush comes in, it goes up 2% in 2 years, hovers at levels above where it was when Bush took his oath. How is that "record lows"?
