One And Done

Not less than 8 hours after the Louisville Cardinals basketball team cut down the nets in Atlanta, I hear a loud, hollow "thu-WONK!" on my sliding glass door.

To my horror, the birdfeeder version of Kevin Ware is lying motionless on my porch.

Okay, okay. Breathe. Don't panic. Maybe he's just "resting."

He was not resting. He did not "Rise Up."

To Louisville fans, I hope this is not an omen of things to come. To bird lovers like myself.... I did all I could.

Sorry.

AND NOW.... for something wonderful and uplifting... ."One Shining Moment!"

It never gets old!

  1. How'd that 9:20 east coast start work out for ya Czabe?

On a side note. I didn't have a dog in this fight buy I gotta say I think Michigan got absolutely hosed on about 7 calls during that game. The officating in that game was atrocious.

The foul called on Burke when he stuffed Siva's lay up attempt?? OMG!! Are you kidding?? That was the cleanest block I've ever seen in my life! How do you miss that call?? Instead of the Wolverines getting in transision Siva gets two free thows. There was 5 minutes left at that piont. That call swung the game. Just an awful call to go along with about 10 others that didn't seem to go Michigans way.

Great collegiate game with both teams giving everything they had though!!

  2. That song (One Shining Moment) is absolutely horrid, and makes what could be an entertaining video unwatchable. For the love of beer why don't they use Aerosmith's "Dream On" or something. Anything but that bag of dorks.

  3. Steve,
I heard about this tragic event on Bob and Brian this morning. You can prevent the death of more feathered Kevin Wares. Invest in Collidescape.

Collidescape is a window coating designed to eliminated window reflections - the most common cause of bird/window collisions. Don't worry, you will be able to see through it and enjoy all of the other birds who will carry on after today's tragic death. www.collidescape.com

I enjoy your segment on Bob and Brian, though I struggled to understand why.

  5. That's a common issue with cardinals. We have a pair (male and female) that bang into the same set of windows 2 to 4 times a week. Very strange.
