Obamacare In One Minute (or less!)

From the single best comprehensive read of this utter debacle anywhere....

"In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, it took about five minutes for liberals to cast the chaos and confusion of the disaster as a searing indictment of not just the Bush administration but of conservatism itself. Whatever the merits of that argument (and there are not many), Katrina was at least a surprise. The October 1 deadline for Obamacare was set by Obama’s own administration years ago — and it caught them completely off guard. The president may now claim that he knew nothing, but he must have wondered why Henry Chao, Healthcare.gov’s chief project manager, set the bar of success at sea level last March: “Let’s just make sure it’s not a Third World experience.” At this point, it could only be more of a Third World experience if Healthcare.gov required enrollees to pay with chickens."

  1. March 21, 2010 to October 1, 2013 is
    3 years, 6 months, 10 days.

    December 7, 1941 to May 8, 1945 is
    3 years, 5 months, 1 day.

What this means is that in the time we were attacked at Pearl Harbor to the day Germany surrendered is not enough time for this federal government to build a working website.

Mobilization of millions, building tens of thousands of tanks, planes, jeeps, subs, cruisers, destroyers, torpedoes, millions upon millions of guns, bombs, ammo, etc. Turning the tide in North Africa, Invading Italy , D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Race to Berlin - all while we were also fighting the Japanese in the Pacific!

….and they can't build a health care website. Does kinda put it in perspective doesn't it?

    1. And we would have lost WWII within a year if the current House and Senate were in place back then.

    2. And this President would have back stabbed anyone that was supposed to be our allies. In addition to firing Ike, Patton, McArthur, Nimitz, and any other four or five star we had.

  2. Maybe they torpedoed their own website because they were afraid that if it worked, it would be more obvious that subscribers have to pay for large increases in their insurance premiums. The failure of the website is the only thing keeping the public from fully understanding how bad Obamacare really is.

  4. This might be even better: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/364093/thus-spake-obama-mark-steyn

    excerpt:

On Thursday, he passed a new law at a press conference. George III never did that. But, having ordered America’s insurance companies to comply with Obamacare, the president announced that he is now ordering them not to comply with Obamacare. The legislative branch (as it’s still quaintly known) passed a law purporting to grandfather your existing health plan. The regulatory bureaucracy then interpreted the law so as to un-grandfather your health plan. So His Most Excellent Majesty has commanded that your health plan be de-un-grandfathered. That seems likely to work. The insurance industry had three years to prepare for the introduction of Obamacare. Now the King has given them six weeks to de-introduce Obamacare.

    1. Cute picture... I guess it was silly of all of the rest of us to think that the early expected enrollment number was 500,000. It's easy to be confused, because that's what the administration told us it's goal was.

So, does that explain it all... the web site needed to crash and be unusable, because "It's supposed to be slow"?

    1. 4409 deaths during the Iraq War. Powerful Number. The same period ... 4259 murders in Chicago. What's your point?

    1. Yes, the Bread and Circuses must continue. Keep us distracted as the noose gets tightened around our throats.

    2. It's his site and he can comment on whatever the H he wants. Sports 24/7 when the freaking Titanic is going down is stupid. If the country is being destroyed, everything is in jeopardy in the long run, including "sports"...

    3. Keith, it's so noble of you to take time out of your life to tell the rest of us how wrong we are and to offer your intellect to tell the rest of us how to live our lives. Do you think you could write up some instructions... oh wait, you are a picture guy... can you make some easy to understand pictures of things I'm allowed to eat and places where it's ok to spend my money? Wait... would it be easier if I just gave all my money to the government and they can spend it for me? I know it would be easier for me... I'm just so confused by the great big world around me, it's comforting to have people like you telling me what to think.

You should take your big brain over to Wikipedia (cuz I *KNOW* you love that place) and look back through history and see if there has ever been any leaders who were so smart that they knew what was good for everyone, and took it upon themselves to make all the decisions for the good of the people.

Man, I wish I could live in one of THOSE societies instead of the horrible one I live in that (for the time being) requires me to be responsible for all my actions.

  8. I think we are going to be too broke from the new insurance premiums (the equivalent of another whole mortgage payment) or too sick from the rationing of medical care to enjoy getting "back to sports." Sometimes, there aren't enough Bread and Circuses to distract even sports commentators from the truth.

  9. Stop hating on Obama! It was imperative that he was elected so that he could close Gitmo and repeal the Patriot Act.

    2. Nono, he wrote the directive to close Gitmo on day one, and has just not done it
