As an Atlanta native, this is even more frustrating.
Arthur Blank continues to feed us the BS that the Falcons need a new stadium and that Atlanta can't get a new Super Bowl because the GA Dome is so old.
What a load of crap!!
The Super Dome is older and MUCH nastier. Then something like this blackout happens and the NFL says this wouldn't play a role in whether or not New Orleans gets another Super Bowl.
The fact is that there is nothing wrong with the GA Dome. It's still a great stadium. IF the falcons get a new stadium, the NFL will give us ONE Super Bowl, but that's it.
We don't get Super Bowls because the town is too spread out, the traffic is terrible, and the weather is completely unpredictable this time of year.
